We are a long established gourmet food shop, deli and catering business with an on site kitchen behind the shop in a lovely area of foodie independent shops called Chelsea Green.
We are looking for an assistant chef to work in our busy kichens preparing a wide range of dishes from starters, mains, soups, pates, veg, sides, puddings and more to fill the lovely display cabinets and fulfill the pre orders. This is an opportunity to bring new ideas and creativity and combine Finns classics with new 'Ballymaloe meets Ottolenghi' style cooking. We are not fine dining as much as loose, free,and plentiful but we use the very best ingredients carefully sourced from tried and trusted suppliers and take inspiration from chefs and countries from all over the world.
We seek someone who is bright, enthusiastic and passionate about food . Over the past twenty eight years we have had a succession of wonderful Ballymaloe trained chefs and we share the same ethos as the Allen family whom we hold in the highest regard.
Our outside catering involves canapes and dinners in customers homes, at private galleries and small corporate events where our attention to detail and service is sought after.
We prepare food for picnics and sporting events, open air opera, the races, family sports days and more.
It is a varied day working in a team of four who work extremely hard and with great humour, considerate of each other at all times and sharing the boring jobs as well as the interesting ones. There is scope to earn extra money by working at the events and first priority is always given to the full time Finns employees for these events.
hours 07.30-4.30 Mon to Fri plus one Saturday per month.
This is a full time position and available for immediate start.
