We are expanding our Pastry team at Cinnamon Cottage and looking for an enthusiastic, personable, part-time pastry chef to join our family run delicatessen and bakery, located just off the Rochestown Road in Cork. Our shop is accessible by bus from the city and there is parking in the area.

The Cinnamon Cottage has been an established deli/bakery for 24 years and prides itself on producing the best quality, homemade goods from scratch while producing as little waste as possible with our food and our packaging. To see what we make visit or find us @cinnamoncottage on Instagram

We strive to use fresh, seasonal ingredients to make traditional style homemade fruit cakes, sponges, desserts, puddings, pies, loaves and lots more for sale in store and for catering orders. We are currently looking for a junior pastry chef/cook with formal training (Ballymaloe 12 week Course or the equivalent), who can work well in an intimate team, is keen to learn and comfortable in a busy environment. Our new team member will work alongside our Senior Pastry Chef and share responsibility for preparing homemade cakes daily, mini desserts, scones, pastries, breads etc.

Some of the main requirements of the role include:

  • Have a passion for home baking from scratch

  • Have excellent attention to detail with measurements & recipes, organisation skills,

    and be punctual

  • Deliver a high standard of baking on a daily basis

  • Help develop new recipes with Pastry team

  • Have a high level of hygiene and cleanliness, including up-to-date HACCP training.

    Working hours for part-time are Saturday/Sunday/Monday 8-4.30 approx. The right candidate will be offered many opportunities to develop their skills by taking on more responsibilities as the business expands.

Qualifications Requested
- Ballymaloe 12 week course or equivalent - HACCP Level 1 training - Any additional cake decorating courses would be helpful
