Paint Pots Montessori Schools

Daytime Cook required for immediate start in our bespoke, private Montessori Nursery40 hours per week, 7/7.30am-3/3.30pm, Monday - Friday.

Preparing breakfastlunch, snacks and early supper to create delicious, fresh and healthy food for children from 1-5 years old.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Our numbers (25-45 covers per meal) and portions are small so there is plenty of opportunity to focus on detail and quality. We offer healthy food that introduces new ingredients to children in a child-friendly way. We prepare everything, fresh, in our kitchen daily.

The kitchen is set into the classroom so the children can see the food being prepared and we have a wonderful team of friendly teachers to support the link between kitchen and classroom. While linked with our wider team this role is also standalone as you will be the only cook in the kitchen.

This role includes light administrative tasks such as working with the Principal to set each seasonal menu, creating ingredients lists for each day menu, ordering kitchen items and ingredients, and maintaining your budget. So basic IT, maths and word processing skills are essential.

We believe in looking after our team and feel more like a family. We are committed to bringing out the best in everyone. This is a lovely role that combines the kitchen and classroom together. The children are a delight and their enjoyment of the food is rewarding.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Our ideal candidate will be confident in the kitchen. You will be someone who loves food, loves cooking and has a happy, cheery disposition. Someone who is happy to be a part of bringing food into the classroom at mealtimes, but also working with the teachers to bring food into the classroom through collaborating on activities and education for the children. You will have a passion for nutrition and delivering creative, inspiring cooking for children. You need to be happy to work within a wider Nursery team but with sole responsibility for the kitchen production, planning and prep. We are looking for someone who will be calm, self-motivated and organised.
