We are looking to hire a Part-Time Commis Chef or Chef de Partie to work Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays (22hrs). We pride ourselves on using fresh, seasonal ingredients where possible to make delicious homemade meals, sides, soups, salads, breads and cakes. Job description

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic chef to join our family run food emporium, located just off the Rochestown Road.  The Cinnamon Cottage has been a much loved food experience and destination for the past 24 years. 

We are looking for a chef with some experience or someone currently going through formal training (Ballymaloe/CIT etc), who can work well with our young, dynamic & energetic team. Our new team member will work alongside a team of 3 other chefs in our savoury section and report to the head chef on a daily basis. The work is varied, creative and fast paced in the kitchen which produces for our shop, catering orders and additional stores we supply to. 

Some of the main requirements of the role include:

· Manage stock and place daily orders with suppliers

· Preparing a high quantity of meals on a daily basis

· Be willing & confident to jump on other areas if needed. Team focused environment

· Be comfortable with batch style cooking and no service (if coming from hotel background)

· Develop and plan menus for various seasons

· Have excellent attention to detail, organisation skills & quality control

· Be punctual

Have a high level of hygiene and cleanliness, including up to date HACCP training

Working hours are ideal for those looking for real kitchen experience while also persuing other training during the week. No night shifts. The shop closes its doors for 4 weeks per year for holidays and a nice rest. 2 weeks consecutive holidays bi-annually (2 weeks in August/2 weeks after Christmas). The right candidate will be offered many opportunities to develop their skills by taking on more responsibilities as the business grows over the coming year.

The interview process will include 1 interview and a few hours in the kitchen for trial.
