OHK CAFE, Kinsale Cork, is looking for a baker/pastry chef to join our tight-knit team.
Daytime Shifts / Weekday hours
We are two sisters running a popular cafe, (recently shortlisted for Best Cafe in 2022 Food and Wine Awards) in our grandmothers former pub in Kinsale. Upon opening in 2017, our kitchen has built a name for itself with a short daily brunch menu using carefully sourced ingredients from our strong network of local suppliers/producers. Most recently, we have focused our energy on building our in-house bakery; developing house breads for our sit-in menu and artful morning pastry for takeaway at our hatch window. A growing retail presence of house preserves rounds out our current offering.
This position is a great chance for someone who would like to build a reputation on excellent and honest food. We are situated in the dynamic seaside town of Kinsale at the edge of West Cork, both of which have thriving food scenes and a genuine supportive community exists between producers and small businesses.
This role would suit a creative person eager to establish their own style and explore their own interests in a supportive, dynamic environment. Since establishing the cafe our endeavour has been to encourage our teams individual approaches and we are keen to be guided by these ways of moving forwards.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: €15.00-€20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- Qualifications Requested
- Experience in similar role or relevant college/school qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a flexibility and willingness to collaborate and work closely with our kitchen team. Experience in a similar role is advantageous, someone who combines ambition, creativity and a love for baking (and cooking) with excellent knowledge of breads, cakes, laminated dough, fermenting, pickling and preserving.
