We are looking for a Kitchen Manger/Chef with at least 2 years kitchen experience to join our small kitchen team! The role is full time daytime shifts 6.30am-3pm with a requirement to work one weekend shift per week. An ability to take initiative, work alone and as part of a team is essential!

One Kinda Folk is a small independent cafe that holds our staff as our number one priority. We offer a fun, inclusive and safe place to work and take great pride in offering our customers and community a space to enjoy with the best coffee, baked goods and focaccia sandwiches around. Our community and team has grown in the 5 years since we opened and we now have two busy little cafes in Dublin 6 and Dublin 4.

Responsibilities

  • Create and prepare a weekly sandwich and soup menu
  • Prepare dough and bake fresh bread daily
  • Bake a range of cakes and baked goods to supply both cafes
  • Responsible for stock management and wastage
  • Responsible for daily orders and stock rotation
  • Responsible for keeping the kitchen/fridges clean, sterilised and execute a weekly deep clean
  • Manage all health and safety/hygiene requirements as per HAACP regulations
  • Input all daily deliveries, fridge temperatures etc into an online HACCP reporting system
  • Responsible for managing the KP on duty
  • Responsible for managing a small kitchen team, rostering, forecasting annual leave
  • Attend weekly managers meeting
  • Training of all new kitchen staff and ongoing training for existing staff

The Person

  • 2 years experience as a chef in a professional kitchen
  • Experience managing people and training
  • A love for food, a keen eye for detail, a drive for creativity
  • Passionate about trying new things, exploring new menus and ideas
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and calmly with all other team members
  • Creative with seasonal produce
  • A passion for hospitality and a drive to succeed

Skills Required

  • HACCP certificate 1,2,3
  • Understanding of food allergens and cross contamination practices
  • Experience baking bread and baked goods
  • Experience creating seasonal menus
  • Experience managing people

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
