Baern is seeking a passionate and motivated chef to join a busy team in the beautiful East Neuk of Scotland.

Baern is a hyper-seasonal bakery, cafe and restaurant situated in an old grain store at the Bowhouse just outside St Monans. Sitting alongside other independent producers East Neuk Market Garden, Futtle Brewery, Scotland the Bread and Butchery at Bowhouse.  

Weekly and sometimes daily changing menus reflect the best of what’s in season, with the majority of produce coming directly from the Balcaskie Estate where Baern is situated, other ingredients are foraged locally or come from excellent local suppliers like David Lowrie Fish or Mellis Cheese. 

The role is for a chef keen to get stuck into the production of sourdough bread, pastries, seasonal breakfast and lunch dishes, really fun dinner menus and lots of foraging, preserving and everything else in between. 

We’re looking for someone with a passion for incredible produce, a keen interest in preservation and a strong sense of hospitality. Accepting applications from chef’s of all levels as full training will be provided.
