We are excited to announce that a vacancy for a junior cook/commis chef has become available in our award winning, premium family run delicatessen and bakery, located just off the Rochestown Road.

 

Hours include Tuesday-Saturday (7.30am-4.30pm) no nights and 2 consecutive days off (45hrs approx). Ideal for someone looking to gain more experience and responsibility in a professional kitchen. 30 minute lunch break 

 

We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality, homemade dishes including dinners, sides, fresh salads, soups, sauces, desserts and much more. We make and bake from scratch and avoid using any preservatives or shortcuts. Using seasonal and local ingredients where possible, we cook a variety of delicious homemade dishes daily including GF, Vegan and Vegetarian options for customers in our own store and other stores which we supply (see @cinnamoncottage on Instagram to see our latest products).

 

We are looking for someone with some kitchen experience, but plenty of on-site training will be available. Our menu consists of traditional Irish dishes as well as a mixture of others such as curries or casseroles. We want someone who works well with others, has a strong interest in cooking and learning, and good organisational skills.

The person will be working with a team of 3 other chefs and reporting to the head and sous chef.

 

- Enthusiasm to learn and organisation skills are essential

  • - Setting up store in the morning for opening, following all HACCP requirements, learning stock management, waste management and rotation, stock ordering, kitchen clean down systems.

- No service, so less pressurised kitchen - ideal for those new to the industry

- Pastry section prep: accurate weighing out, making a variety of mixes from scratch including buttercreams, cake mixes, frangipans. Baking tarts. Decorating tarts. Baking cakes.

- Savory Section: Preparing fresh seasonal salads and dressings. Making fresh quiches and dips as well as preparing fresh foods for our deli.

 

Transport: Parking available near shop and bus stop also 1 min walk from shop
